A Dog and the Family He Owns.

2 Feb

Grace was about to enter puberty. Her bones were growing so fast they hurt.

Mom thought the dress she was wearing was much too busy for the occasion but it was too late to change.

Peggy never did know what to do with her hands.

Bobby hated that he had just lost his spare pair of glasses. If he misplaced the ones he had on now? Well, that was it.

Rusty had been running around all morning. His underwear had sweated all the way through and that was all he could think about.

Speed was having another in a series of lovely days. His breakfast had been the usual but they had added some shreds of cooked beef on top. His coat had been brushed so long that he looked like a Kentucky Derby winner. He couldn’t wait to go strolling over to the McLaffertys who had just moved down the block. They had a tan lab named Ginger Snap. Ginger had already shown him a lot of attention. And that was yesterday when he looked like
the human’s breakfast. His glossy coat would have Spike choking on his idiotic remarks from this morning. Yes, it had been a splendid day and only promised to get better. Woof!
